Steve Crickett
Steve Crickett was the longest serving drummer I ever played with. He seamlessly joined the Arizonas in 1980 at an outgoing gig with his previous band, Dr Cosgills. Steve and I played together in a number of bands throughout the years. He was the bar manager at the Roses Theatre Tewkesbury for many years and instigated the regular use of the bar as a smaller venue. I played it many times. He also was the drummer for the annual Panto. He had effectively retired due to ill health but we had discussed doing some recording only six months prior to his death. He still had an electric kit set up in his front room and continued to ‘keep his hand in’. Sadly, that was not to be.

He is a major presence on the recordings destined for Box Set 3 which features decades of Phil Beer Band music. I am now the only surviving member of what was originally the ‘Maisemore Village Band’.
The Steve Crickett memorial gig will take place at the Roses Theatre on Friday August 16th. Featuring Myself, Miranda Sykes, Paul James, Jesse Benns, Emily Slade and more to come.
